Chat Meeting 9/26/04

Meeting was hosted by Tom Vernon. Also in attendance were Bill Vasquez, Jim Combs, & Tom Hanley.
Tom Vernon reported the Bob Reed is awaiting confirmations for Friday night entertainment. Bob Reed has decided not to perform due to equipment issues.
Tom Vernon will rent tables for the Friday night museum activities. 8 tables @$7ea.
Mike Brown has ordered 200 shirts and 36 hats.
Mike Brown will send Bill Vasquez the info on where to send the DJ his $100 deposit.
Tom Vernon has made arrangements for a very large flag 20'x38' but we may need to downsize.
Mike Brown has ordered decorations and centerpieces for the Banquet.
Jim Combs is finding it costly to reproduce the photo CDs. He is still searching for a reasonable vendor.
Friday night hospitality suite must be a BYOB event. The Ramada Inn no longer holds a liquor license but they allow you to bring whatever you want. Tom Hanley will inform attendees via email.
Tom Vernon would like Association members to meet Thurs. night at the Ramada Inn @ 7pm.
Tom Vernon & Mike Brown will make phone calls to those not yet registered for a final reminder.

Chat Meeting 9/12/04

Meeting was hosted by Tom Vernon. Also in attendance were Mike Brown, Bill Vasquez, Jim Combs, Bob Reed, Bob Feeley & Tom Hanley.
People must park in Goss Cove next to the Nautilus Museum and the Navy will provide transportation to the Sub School Graduation on Friday morning.
Bill Vasquez and Tom Hanley will each take charge of a bus going on the Russian Sub Tour.
Payment refunds deadline is September 22, 2004.
Mike Brown will write a letter of Invitation to the COs of the Nautilus Museum and the Sub School. Bob Reed will provide names and addresses.
Bill Vasquez will provide a list of non-payers Sept. 22, 2004 to Mike Brown for phone calls. Tom Hanley will provide contact information.
At least one 50/50 raffle will be run during the course of the weekend. Prizes have yet to be determined.
Jim Combs will bring CDs to sell of the presentation.
Jim Combs, Bob Reed and Tom Hanley will make a trip to the Nautilus Museum the weekend of 9/24 to do a op check on the presentation equipment.
Bob Reed will bring some CDs to sell and make a donation to the Reunion Association.
Friday nite buffet will be provided by Orsini's. Bob Reed will email the menu when it is set this week.

Chat Meeting 8/15/04

Meeting was hosted by Mike Brown. Also in attendance were Bill Vasquez, Tom Vernon & Tom Hanley.
Tom Hanley will send Mike Brown the list of those that are coming but have no email addresses.
Guy Mendenhall will organize the Hospitality Suite.
Mike Brown and Tom Vernon are looking into shirts as gifts for attendees.
We will recognize the "Plankowners" at the banquet.
We will meet at the Nautilus Museum for the Sub School graduation bus ride. The time is not yet set.
Mike Brown and Tom Vernon will print up a reunion program.

Chat Meeting 7/18/04

Meeting was delayed due to Chat function inoperable. Jim Combs contacted Web host and rectified the situation. Meeting started at 11:00AM.
Meeting was hosted by Mike Brown. Also in attendance were Bill Vasquez, Tom Vernon, Jim Combs & Tom Hanley.
USO entertainment is being finalized this week.
DJ or Band option is still open depending upon attendance.
There was a motion to provide gifts for attendees. Some suggestions were Swiss Army Knife with logo, Hat, and Patrol Pin (painted white) with stars to indicate the number of reunions the member has attended. We will still gather thoughts and finalize at the next meeting.
Tom Hanley will put out a general email to all members emphasizing importance of booking rooms, gathering photos for Jim Combs, asking for Ships Store volunteer. Also, he will attach a crew member contact listing (rtf format).
Tom Hanley will send an email on 8/1/04 to all registered attendees reminding them of the options they registered for and providing the status of their account.
Tom Hanley will send a final bill email on 8/15/04 to all registered attendees reminding them that the dead line for final payment is Sept. 1, 2004.
Mike Brown will get an update from Bob Reed on Friday nights entertainment/agenda.

Chat Meeting 6/13/04

Meeting was hosted by Mike Brown. Also in attendance were , Bill Vasquez, Bob Reed & Tom Hanley.
Tom Vernon is coordinating entertainment for Saturday night. He had a DJ and a Band holding the date open.
The USO is holding the date open - no contract.
The Bus and Admission fees for the Russian sub are set - no contract
Hotel & Ocean Beach are under contract and deposit has been given.
Official address for the Reunion Association will be Tom Hanley's address for the time being until a more permanent address can be decided upon.
Guy Mendenhall was mentioned as a possible volunteer.
<20% of the crewmembers in our database have registered their intentions so far. Of the 80 members (130 total attendees), only 40 or so have pre-paid.
There will be a drop dead settle up date 1 month before the reunion. Tom Hanley will put out an advance email reminding all to send in their money.

Chat Meeting 5/2/04

Tom Vernon has secured an additional 15 rooms in the Ramada Inn.
Tom Hanley will email status of reunion registration to all members and remind them to promptly send their checks. Include a request for Ship's Store Volunteer. Include request for photos of ship and crew be sent to Jim Combs.
Bobby Reed will coordinate festivities for Fri night "Submarine Museum/C.O. Night".
Tom Hanley will update Deceased members on the reunion website.
We will look into using a DJ vs. Live Band for banquet night.

Chat Meeting 4/4/04

Meeting was hosted by Tom Vernon. Also in attendance were Mike Brown, Larry Brew, Lou DiGuiseppe & Tom Hanley.
Tom Vernon has secured 50 rooms in the Ramada Inn.
Tom Hanley will send out an email to all good email addresses asking for members to look over the list of members we can't locate and ask them to make a phone call to their friends.
Tom Hanley will follow up next week with an email describing reunion costs and membership dues incentives that will be drafted up by Tom Vernon.

Chat Meeting 3/7/04

The reunion dates are October 22,23,24.
The Nautilus Museum in Groton has been reserved for Friday, Oct 22, 2004 at 1800 for our registration and welcome aboard reception.
We have booked the Port and Stbd at Ocean Beach for the Banquet Evening.
Tomorrow Tom Vernon will call the Ramada Inn and reserve a block of 50 rooms. The Hospitality Suite will be set up at the Ramada Inn and will be running Friday night and Saturday during the day.
Mike Brown is still trying to contact as many Captains as possible to make the reunion theme "Captain's Night". He will follow up this week to see that his request is being fulfilled by the Navy.
Tom Hanley has split up the phone call list between several very helpful people. Some missing crewmembers information is coming in to the website via the forms but it is slow. It has only been one week since the lists were handed out so we are still hopeful that we will recover 25-35% of the missing info.
Tom Hanley will generate a mailing list of any outstanding crewmembers that can't been reached by email or phone in about 2 weeks for postal mailing.
